“All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.” —1 Peter 1:24-25
Quick Thoughts on 1 Peter 1:24-25
What a powerful verse showing us that seasons change, but no matter what happens, the word of God will always be there. Technology can advance, we can become desperate, we can become distracted, but it doesn’t change the love Christ has for all His children.
The Word of God will stand forever and gives us hope in a desperate world. While we may believe the world of today is in worse shape than ever, it’s nothing new for God. His word stands forever because it applies no matter what as many of the issues discussed in the bible we still deal with today.
Remember, we are just visitors here on earth because God’s word stands forever, not just on earth. Our home isn’t this earth and we all can use a dose of the eternal.
Lord, help me to spend more time devouring your word. Help me to open my bible and spend time studying, not just reading, but studying your word as the most amazing mysteries of life are uncovered when my nose is in your good book. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ in heaven. Amen.
